各国的“年节”
周边国家一直受中国文化的影响。在韩国、朝鲜和越南，农历新年是一年之中最重要的节日。在朝鲜半岛，农历新年被称为“年节”或“旧正”，正月初一至初三是全民族的法定假日。越南农历新年假期从除夕至正月初三，加上周六日换休，共6天。
一些华人聚居的东南亚国家也将农历新年定为法定假日。在新加坡，正月初一至初三是公共假期。马来西亚华人占总人口的四分之一，政府将正月初一和初二定为法定假日。华人众多的印度尼西亚和菲律宾，2003年和2004年分别将农历新年定为全国公共节日，但菲律宾不放假。
